Our pricing is based on the number of users utilizing the hosted phone system. The User License enables the creation of a ‘user object’ within the call flow, which can be connected to multiple SIP devices and assigned to a selected call plan.

This flexibility allows users to link various devices—such as their desk phone, smartphone, and PC—to the same user object and call plan, ensuring seamless communication and easy accessibility for colleagues and clients.

Device Licence

As a user of our system, you can link multiple devices to your user object, including a Desk IP Phone, Smartphone, PC, or even multiple Desk IP Phones located in different places, such as one in the office and one at home.

Each device requires a Device License, offering the flexibility to connect all devices to a single user object and call plan. This ensures seamless communication across all your devices.

These functionalities are known as unified communications, encompassing a variety of communication methods including chat, video calls, screen sharing, conference calls, emails, and file transfers, utilizing multiple devices for interaction. Certainly, there is no need to purchase a new phone number or abandon your current one when transitioning to a new hosted PBX provider. The vast majority of Australian telephone numbers can be effortlessly transferred into our system, allowing you to use them without limitations. You can continue to use your existing handset with a hosted PBX system by employing an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA). This adapter transforms the analog signals from your phone into IP traffic, which can then be sent over the internet. To effectively utilize a hosted PBX system, only a minimal amount of bandwidth is necessary. A single channel (equivalent to one call) requires merely 80 Kbps (0.08 Mbps), and with the use of a compressed codec, this requirement can be reduced even further to just 0.03 Mbps. Consequently, an internet connection speed of 24 Mbps could potentially support over 300 simultaneous calls. However, it’s important to note that the quality of these calls is heavily dependent on the stability and reliability of your internet connection; hence, while high speed is not critical, consistency and dependability are paramount.

For instance, we can set up call forwarding to your mobile phone whenever your internet connection is down. This allows you to continue receiving calls seamlessly, independent of your internet connectivity.

Traditional phone lines typically utilize the G.711 codec, whereas hosted PBX systems are capable of supporting more advanced codecs such as G.722. The key distinction between these two codecs lies in their respective speech bandwidths: G.722 covers a broader range from 50 to 7000 Hz, compared to the 300 to 3400 Hz range of G.711. This wider bandwidth enables G.722 to deliver High Definition (HD) call quality.
